Toxic-Free Haircare Leaves Healthy & Shiny

I felt like pulling out my hair. So frustrated. The information's there but it's confusing. Opinions flying around. And I'm navigating the 'Wonderland'. I've been down that rabbit hole.
After my dive into the world of sulphate-free shampoos, which revealed the damage SLS foaming agents can do to your hair and skin, plus their link to cancer, I decided to look a little deeper.
So I checked the ingredient list on the back of bottles. That's a whole new language in its self. But it didn't sway me. I imagined it was worth the effort for us to find the truth. I also remembered seeing a headline about the hundreds of synthetic chemicals we are being exposed to from the beauty industry. Plus, Laura happened to mention the thousands of chemicals our bodies are detoxifying that haven't been properly tested on humans. Consequently, I was encouraged to carry on.
Search for Toxic Haircare Ingredients
As you'll soon be able to imagine, this is where I started to get frustrated. It seemed simple when the question marked my brain. I had a bottle on hand so I took a closer look at the ingredients and grabbed my phone. I was originally searching for the chemical-looking ingredients on the packaging which opened the doors to all kinds of views.
Take Benzyl Salicylate as an example. It's a naturally occurring part of essential oils. You'll find it in ylang-ylang and cloves. Sounds fine, right? So companies add it to enhance or to fragrance products. Or it will absorb the UV light, therefore, protecting your hair from sun damage. But when you look a little closer, all's not well and good.
In fact, Benzyl Salicylate is restricted. It's because it is a human immune system toxicant and allergen. Plus, it is also associated with interfering in our hormone systems.
Now I find myself suspended. And questioning. How much of this natural chemical will begin to affect my hormones? That seems like a nerdy question I shouldn't be asking just to buy a shampoo and conditioner. You'd think they should have worked this out. They should be regulated. We shouldn't have to know the in's and out's of the chemistry involved just to wash and condition our hair. Everything on the shelve should be safe. But I'm losing faith.
Quest to Find Safe Shampoos & Conditioners
Subsequently, I couldn't go on searching for ingredients and checking them out. So I searched for chemicals to avoid. And that's when the Wonderland opened up and took me through a scientific tunnel. Now I find myself faced with a list of chemicals that might or might not be damaging to our health. And I begin to ask how we're going to use this info. I cannot imagine browsing through ingredients while in the shops and checking them against a list to work out if the product is safe or not.
So instead of blasting you with controversial chemicals to avoid, I went on a quest to find shampoos and conditioners that are completely safe to use. Some products that do not contain undesired ingredients. Haircare goods that are highly rated. That lift out the build-up of styling products from your hair. That makes your hair healthier and leaves it shiny.
In the end, I came up with these brands that tick all of the boxes. They don't contain any scary or nasty or questionable ingredients. Simply quality ingredients and natural beauty.
