They say... "Good fortune favours the brave", actually, there are a few translations - "bold" and "strong"... it seems you'd need to be courageous to prosper. A perfect slogan for the military but not for us.

Let's shake it up a little because in reality...

...Good Fortune Favours the Smart

In that, taking random risks is dumb and not everything prosperous has an emotional barrier blocking your way. Truly, grabbing the info and putting it into practice is easier and keeps you advancing. Also, don't keep it to yourself. Share the wealth of knowledge.

That way, with all the tech we've got going on today, we may never lose sight of solutions. Much like this one, in fact, such health benefits are being suppressed. Businesses get their bottoms smacked if they use marketing language only permissible for FDA-approved drugs. I thought "food is thy medicine".

Well, around 1500 BC the Egyptians believed it true. One of the oldest medical writings states the pomegranate as a treatment of tapeworm and other infections. It's, therefore, no wonder they regarded the pomegranate as a symbol of prosperity and ambition.

Throughout time, the pomegranate has been infused into many civilisations and religions and their medicines. Still today, it is used in Ayurvedic medicine. And now, some refer to the pomegranate as a "fruiting ovary". It is actually very similar. And when you view the explosion of nature and follow it to today, it's easy to picture how everything is entwined. It's not a coincidence nature has provided us with such a fruit.

Pomegranate fruit nutritional benefits

Seeing that a pomegranate contains animal steroid hormones like estrone (an estrogen) and testosterone normally found in our ovaries, it not only looks like an ovary but provides your body with hormones you may well need. Best of all, these estrogens do not stimulate carcinogenic effects unlike the concerns surrounding synthetic "bio-identical" or plant-derived estrogens. Instead, the pomegranate's estrogens change estrogen receptors selectively.

By getting closer to nature's glorious foods we are able to prosper... for longer. In fact, if you are trying to get pregnant then consider supplementing your man with pomegranate extract and greater galangal root because they show increased sperm activity by 62 percent.

Plus, pomegranate juice's antioxidants protect the placenta from excess oxidative stress. So get on the pome juice throughout pregnancy.[1,2]

While the low-carb movement would like us to avoid sugary foods, the trend never sat right with me because so many sugary foods provide fantastic nutrients. Take the pomegranate as an example. Its sugary juices are rich in triterpenes (precursors to steroid hormones) and phenols such as flavonoids, anthocyanins, and lignin. Also, the seed's oil contains phytosterols to help lower cholesterol, and fatty acids, mainly punicic acid.[3,4,5]

Talking about cholesterol and the diseases it's linked to, eating fruit slows cardiovascular diseases from developing.[6] With that being the case, pomegranate extract significantly decreased total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, insulin, and glucose. Plus, HDL-cholesterol increased.[7]

The astonishing results keep coming... now, the damaging side of LDL-cholesterol comes when it becomes oxidised and the pomegranate can reduce this from happening by 90%. Also, by taking pomegranate juice you can reduce your blood pressure too.[8]

Let's not stop there. Due to the decrease in insulin and glucose levels noted after taking pomegranate, it is quite possible it could prevent diabetes. In fact, one study shows how taking pomegranate helps type-2 diabetics.[9]

Despite all of the healthy features, there are some cautions. First of all, because pomegranates are growing popular there are some low-lives squeezing every penny. Pure pomegranate juices are being altered. With artificial and natural colours, sugars, and up to seven different fruit juices, the juice you buy may not be what it claims to be.

Additionally, this botanical medicine effects some of your body's metabolic pathways drugs use, therefore, if you are on prescription drugs, you should speak to your doctor.

Ultimately, fruit is very good for you... and the pomegranate is in season right now so why not get its nutritional benefits into you...seeds and all.
